Two letters from William Eaton, U.S. Consul at Tunis, to his special diplomatic agent James Leander Cathcart. The letters concern the renegotiation of a treaty with the Bey of Tunis in 1800. Eaton asks Cathcart to send him copies of Cathcart's correspondence with Richard O'Brien, the U.S. Consul to Algiers. A promissory note of Eaton's from 1809 is also included.
